Kellea and Rafe are cycling across the US to raise funds for Breast Cancer Action and the Lymphoma Foundation of America. They are riding in honor of Bud Davis, long-time friend and Tahoe local, whose life inspired a sense of adventure in all those he met. THE ROUTE...updated
On April 14, 2008, we dipped our rear wheels in the Atlantic Ocean in Virginia Beach, VA and headed west along the Blue Ridge Parkway to Asheville, NC. We rode south of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and there our plans derailed. Just before we crossed into Tennessee, Kellea got hit by a car. Though not badly hurt, Kellea's bruised ribs meant she wouldn't be able to bike for over a month. Our ride turned into a car journey, which is documented in the blog below. We tried to carry forward our original intentions of raising funds for two great groups and witnessing a different side of America.

OUR GOAL
Rafe and Kellea dedicate their tour to Bud Davis, who will inspire them every mile of the ride. They have committed to raise funds for the Lymphoma Foundation of America along with Breast Cancer Action.

- A father-daughter pair, biking their way across the U.S. in memory of Tahoe local and long-time friend, Bud Davis. Rafe has lived in Tahoe for over 35 years, where he raised 5 kids and taught them to love the outdoors. Kellea went to school and has been living in the Bay Area working for women's rights since 2001. They are thrilled that you're visiting their blog.
